Load

Definition of load:
The loading capacity of the gratings varies with the material, clear span, bearing bar dimension, contact surface and the distance between the bearing bars.

The maximum loading capacity is obtained when the grating is spanning in the shortest direction (bearing direction/span) and all bearing bars are supported. The minimum recommended contact surface is 30 mm.

Ditributed load

The load may be distributed across the entire grating, which is also known as a distributed load. This load is stated as:

q/m2, where q = kN, dvs. kN/m2

Point load

The load may also be delimited to a smaller area of the grating, e.g. 0.1 x 0.1 m – also known as a point load. This load is stated as:

Q, where Q = kN
