General details about grating types SP, N & NP
Back

Elefant® gratings consist of vertical standing flat bars. The tallest bars are in the span direction and are called bearing bars. The transverse bars are called control and filler bars, and the control bars are used to keep the gratings square during the pressure welding.

Together, the bars form a pattern of many square sections, called "meshes".

The distance between the filler bars is called M C
The distance between the bearing bars is called M A
M C is written first and M A is written as the last dimension when difening the mesh size, e.g.:
M C x M A = E.g. 20x30 mm

The gratings are usually finished with edge bar that can be made to suit your requirements.

ElefantRiste A/S manufactures gratings based on the four basic types: SP, NP, N & Louvre Gratings (Ventilation gratings).

Type SP is the most common type on which the vast majority of our standard products are based, whilst types NP, N & Louvre Gratings are primarily used in connection with custom-made gratings - often for purposes where requirements are made of design and aesthetic appearance.
