Balustrade infills

General details:
It has become increasingly popular to use our design gratings as balustrade infills. In fact, gratings for balustrade infills started the whole idea that elefant® gratings have other uses than walkway gratings. The gratings are a good alternative to glass infills as they provide a sturdy infill together with great air and light passage.

Grating types:
Typically, grating type N is used for balustrade infills, but types SP & NP are also being used in some cases, and balustrade infilling of ventilation gratings is also possible.

Mesh sizes:
The mesh size is adapted to the individual project. For instance, the most common mesh size in England is 100x40 mm where the height of the balustrade infill is divided by 100 mm. Mesh size 30x30 mm is also commonly used.
Fitting methods:
The gratings attach to balusters with welded-in blocks or holes in the edge iron.

Other:
The gratings may also be rolled (See the picture from Goldsmiths College).
