Louvre (Ventilation) gratings consist of vertical bars in height (bearing bars) and angled horizontal bars at right angles to the vertical bars. (called louvre bars).
For closed front louvre gratings, the next louvre bar starts at the level where the preceding louvre bar ends (see figure). This design ensures that it is not possible to see in between the bars, and it also reduces the amount of driving rain that can get behind the bars. This type is therefore ideal for ventilation shafts, screening etc.
